Giro d’Italia week 3

Just noticed that the coverage info on the main site has fallen off the bottom of the page and there seems to be some hiccough with the archives. Here’s what I’m watching:-

RAI has the best coverage on 13 east: RAI Tre 15:15-17:00 CET daily live coverage. Extra features and weekend extra live coverage on RAI Tre and RAI Sport Sat.

Eurosport Germany is on 19 east 16:00-17:15 CET daily live coverage, but often delayed and cut short by tennis live coverage from the French Open. Saturday’s stage is advertised as 15:00-17:30 CET and Sunday as 16:30-17:30 CET. On weekdays, the previous stage is usually summarised earlier in the day.

Tuesday is a rest day, though.

La Fleche Wallone

Eurosport (19 east) shows this mid-week one-day race 1400-1630 CET on Wednesday 23 April. RTBFsat (19e) will be there 1335-1640 CET. France 3 (5w) lists it 1455-1640 CET.

Bernie S wrote in: “RTL Luxembourg are covering Fleche Wallone and LBL and I see they are on
Astra but I have never watched the channel so I assume it would be the same
prog as their live stream over the net. Fleche 1400 cet, LBL 1500 cet” – I’ve only seen the RTL.lu channel on 19e used for news in Luxemburgish, but I’ve not really been checking it much.

New this time, it’s also on young French digital channel W9 from 14:50 CET which is sometimes in the clear on 19e and 13e (I’ve not checked yet today), as well as terrestial digital in France.

Tour of the Basque Country

Eurosport don’t seem to be showing this race this year (I think they used to) but I think ETBsat (19 east) is showing it. I see they’re listing

Lunes 7 15:50 “LEGAZPI – LEGAZPI (137 KMS.)” 17:30

Martes 8 15:50 “2.ETAPA: LEGAZPI – ERANDIO (153 KMS.)” 17:35

Miércoles 9 15:55 “3. ETAPA : ERANDIO – VIANA (195 KMS.)” 17:40

Jueves 10 15:50 “ETAPA 4: VIANA – VITORIA – GASTEIZ (171” 17:35

Viernes 11 15:55 “ETAPA 5: VITORIA – GASTEIZ – ORIO (162 K” 17:35

Sábado 12 16:15 “6. ETAPA: ORIO – AIA – ORIO (20 KM.)”

which matches up with the official site stage list.

Tour of Flanders

Bernie S wrote in: “Bit concerned RTBF not showing Flanders on Sunday (4 hrs last year). Only Eurosport (19 east) and RAI Tre (13 east) I can find so far. I just checked ARD/ZDF no deal there. Also France 3 said on Sunday at CI that Flanders is not live there. So, coverage is a bit sparse, although NOS will probably show but are encrypted.”

Thanks Bernie. Eurosport is schedules show it as 13:00-17:00 CET and RAI Tre has it 15:10-18:00 CET (which probably means Eurosport will overrun and not show the presentations, as sadly usual). Unusually, it’s also on SFinfo (13 east) at 13:00 CET. Highlights 15:15 CET Monday and 13:30 CET Wednesday on Eurosport.

Milan-San Remo

Everyone’s favourite Saturday one-day classic so far this year(!) will be live on RAI Tre (13e) from 14:50 CET.

Highlights are on Eurosport (19e) at 17:00 CET. (It’s live on Eurosport 2, but that’s not free-to-air.)

Anyone found other free TV coverage? This seems surprisingly sparse, but I guess it competes with skating and swimming championships.
