Vattenfalls

Filed under: Road racing, Live Events, Eurosport, Coverage — MJ Ray @ 10:02-06:00

Bernie S writes in too: “The Vattenfalls race in Hamburg on Sunday is on both Eurosport and RAI Sport piu from 1545 cet”

This is a race that I usually miss and it looks like I’ll miss it again this year. Is it any good?

  1. This race has a certain poignancy for British fans as this was the date reserved for our World Cup race Wincanton/Rochester Classic that was given to the Germans after Ullrichs Tour victory and consequent enthusiasm in Germany. I also recall seeing Max Sciandri trying to defend the race to a group of riders in Brighton who were obviuosly less than enamoured that a car had got on to the race route.

  2. If it’s any help there is a 30 min summary tonight on German regional channel NDR at 2230 UK time (2330 CET). Regarding Bernie S’s comment, it is sad that German enthusiasm has now faded to such an extent that this race is no longer shown live on NDR as had been the case for the past few years.
